The Friends From Scratch course has a lot of information and will help you with every facet of making new friends.
But not everyone needs the same help. You may need help finding like-minded people and striking up conversations with strangers, while another person might want to get better at connecting with people and setting up future hangouts.
Don’t worry, this course covers it all, and much more. But first, you need to know where you lie on the friendship continuum.
The Friendship Continuum
Your friendship needs and desires will fall somewhere on a continuum. See here:
At the very left is “no friends” and on the very right is “tons of friends.” Where you focus your energy will depend on where you fall.
If you have little to no friends, you need to focus on finding and meeting new people. You’ll also want to learn how to meet these people, build connections with them, and eventually get their phone number.
Once you’ve made some friends, your focus changes a little. You can start meeting friends of theirs. It’s much easier to befriend a friend-of-a-friend than it is to befriend a stranger. You’ll also want to keep in touch with and hang out with the people you’ve already met. Of course, you can still meet new people; it just has a lower rank of importance now.
Once you have a lot of friends, you have to start declining invitations. You need to figure out what’s important to you and make sure you spend your time wisely on high value activities you really enjoy or find meaningful. You also want to focus on maintaining your most important relationships because it’s easy to forget about people when you’re busy.
This course is structured for people on the left half of the continuum, but anyone who wants to meet new people and make new friends will benefit. Whether you have no friends or tons of friends, this course will teach you how to find new new people and turn them into friends.
The Course Structure
Friends From Scratch is divided into the following four modules:
- Finding new people to meet
- Starting conversations and meeting new people
- Building strong connections
- Hanging out and becoming good friends
The course is most useful when you go through each module in order because the lessons build on each other. On top of that, we have assignments for you to work on in early modules that help you in later ones.
However, if you really want to skip ahead to the section you think you need the most help with, that’s fine. It will still provide you with plenty of guidance.
That being said, I highly recommend going back through the previous modules to make sure you learn the whole system.
The Friends From Scratch System
I created a system because it’s not just about knowing what to do. Sure, I give you all the information you need to know throughout the course. But if I left it at that, many people wouldn’t follow through and get what they’re looking for.
With this system, you’re much more likely to follow through with your goals and that’s my number one concern. All you have to do is put in the work.
There’s a lot to this process, but don’t worry – there’s no reason to feel overwhelmed. We ease the assignments into each lesson and once you get up and running, the “maintenance” is not a lot of work.
Here are the main components of this system:
- 4 modules containing over 20 lessons. Each lesson plan is written in great detail to make you sure you have all the information you need to learn this process.
- Checklists and summaries for all tactics, behaviors, and strategies that you’ll want to understand and improve, so you can review them quickly and easily put them into practice.
- Worksheet assignments that you’ll fill out and use to develop your specific game plan. By frontloading the work, you’ll be ready to make new friends the second you meet them.
- A detailed scheduling process to incorporate into your calendar. This will help you stay on track and do all the right activities during the entire process.
If you go through the modules, learn the checklists and summaries, complete the worksheets, and follow the scheduling process, you’ll have an extremely high chance of making amazing, new friends.
This doesn’t mean it’s easy – and you may have to get creative and think outside the box at times – but it’s important to trust the system and do each step along the way.
Alright, enough of the introduction. I’ll see you inside Module 1. Let’s go.
