Welcome to Module 3: Building Strong Connections, where you’ll learn how to bond with people quickly.
Before we begin, let’s recap what you’ve done so far:
- You’ve done some introspection by determining your goals and interests. You know what you want to get out of your relationships and you know what you enjoy doing.
- You know which places are best for meeting new people. You know that joining groups, meeting people at work, and meeting friends of friends are the easiest ways to make new friends.
- And you know how to meet people the right way, for any type of situation.
Now you’ll learn how to connect with these people and set yourself up to continue hanging out in the future.
When I say “connect” or “bond,” I mean build a positive relationship, where each person wants and likes having the other around. The stronger the connection, the more you’ll enjoy and appreciate having each other around.
There are a few steps you need to take to make this happen:
1. First, you need to be prepared. By understanding what drives you and the reasons you love the things you do, you’ll be able to make stronger connections with people.
2. You need to have conversations that build the bond between you and the other person. By following some simple steps, you’ll do this with ease.
3. You have to plant the seeds for future hangouts. It’s much easier to make plans with someone when they clearly see a reason for hanging out again.
4. You need to get their phone number (or other contact info). If you properly plant the seeds for a future hangout, this is easy because they will be expecting to keep in touch. But you still need to make sure you do it.
Once you’ve completed these four tasks, you’re on your way to having one more good friend. It’s not complicated, and it’s not too difficult, but each component is extremely necessary. If you understand these steps and learn how to put them into action, you’ll make new friends like a machine.
I’m sure you want to get to it. Head over to the next lesson to get started.
